Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house having a combined gross home earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined family earnings won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and my nsfas need not post any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
